Jeff Lowe Says ‘Tiger King’ is Coming Back for One More Unexpected Episode

By | April 5, 2020

You didn’t think you’d get rid of Joe Exotic that easy, did you?

An unexpected bonus episode of the viral Netflix docuseries Tiger King is set to air next week, according to one of the series’ stars. Jeff Lowe, who is the current owner of Joe Exotic’s questionable zoo, announced the news via a Cameo, a site where you can pay for personalized video messages from celebrities.

The video was sent to and posted by Los Angeles Dodgers player Justin Turner on Twitter. In the video, Lowe addresses Turner, who is a fan of the show.

“You need a life,” Lowe says jokingly in the video. “You just wasted seven hours on us.”

But, notably, Lowe goes on to reveal that he and his wife Lauren will be filming a bonus episode of Tiger King the following day.

“Netflix is adding one more episode,” Lowe says in the Cameo. “It will be on next week. We’re filming here tomorrow.”

It’s unclear when the Cameo was filmed, though Turner tweeted out the video on April 4. It’s also unknown what exactly the episode will cover, as the extension comes as somewhat of a surprise.

Netflix originally debuted Tiger King on March 20. Much of the interview footage used in the series was reportedly filmed in 2018, though filming of Exotic’s sentencing for hiring a hitman to kill his rival Carole Baskin extended into January 2020.

It seems the streaming platform is capitalizing on Tiger King’s phenom status by adding one last hoorah to the docuseries catalog, pulling the episode together quite quickly. But chances are, this isn’t truly the end of this big cat saga. Not by a longshot.
