The keto diet is currently trending worldwide, offering a unique high-fat, moderate protein and low-carbohydrate formula to those trying to lose weight. Personal-trainer-to-the-stars Jono Castano explains, “on the keto diet, you need to restrict your carb intake to just 20–50g a day. By doing this, your body is forced to switch from burning glucose to then producing ketones from fatty acids in the liver, which will result in weight loss and keto energy from ketones. When

Do It Yourself, At-Home Healthy Keto Bowl Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 100g poached chicken breast
  • 80g cabbage base
  • 50g baby spinach
  • 50g watermelon radish
  • 20ml roast sesame oil
  • 2 Tbsp gluten-free Shoyu sauce
  • 1/2 an avocado
  • 15g kewpie mayo
  • 1 Tsp fresh ginger
  • 1 Tbsp slivered almonds

Method:

In a medium bowl, mix together your first few ingredients: the roast sesame oil, Shoyu sauce, and ginger. Set aside. Add the poached chicken breast to the bowl with the marinade and toss to coat. Adjust seasonings as needed. After this, refrigerate until ready to serve. Divide ingredients into a bowl with cabbage, baby spinach, watermelon radish. Top it all off with your avocado and almonds. Serve with a drizzle of the kewpie. Eat to your heart’s content! This keto diet recipe is sure to fill you up without starchy carbs.
